It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing completely," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was removed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
