NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and after last week's discussion about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the number of penalties both conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to see how Denver's QB the rookie managed to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the top defender with CB their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing extra defenders instead they could position two linebackers in the interior before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on of the season, we said on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has excelled big while recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his mobility, being able to throw on the run, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
