Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, however can the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
