Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The show will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
