Trump Calls Families of Shot Guard Personnel to the White House

President Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Background on the Devastating Event

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.

Presidential Offer

The president stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to support public safety in DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of her former high school, stated to the press. “She was caring, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Government Revisions

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the administration to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop providing entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to speak to the family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” he told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
