Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
